JANUARY 2019 | OUR FAMILY OF SIX | 4 NIGHTS

Byron Bay has had my heart from my first stay 10 years ago ... and each year I have been back at least once. I remember when Bask & Stow first opened ... I walked past in awe. So to say I was excited was an understatement.

Bask & Stow consists of 4 suites and the main house. We stayed in the Main House which in one word, stunning! The house is an original federation cottage that has been restored with a minimalist design –think Bauhaus meets relaxed coastal living. Perfect for our family of 6 ... there are 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and a full kitchen with a dining room by the side. One of the things that we loved the most about the house is the living spaces ... there is a media room (great for the kids) and several lounging areas around the house. Which is so great for families and groups as holidays are a time to come together but, at the same time, you want to be able to have your own space. My favourite place was to sit at the built-in lounge that overlooked the rear of the property with a view of my favourite thing, palm trees!!!

The location of the property is ideal ... it is located in what is called the golden grid of Byron. The Top Shop is literally a couple of doors up from the house, it’s a café with amazing fresh produce that is quite iconic to the town. It is a 5-minute walk to the main street where you will find some of my favourite restaurants & cafes ... make sure you head to Bayleaf Café for breakfast and to The Mez Club for an ink gin.

Byron lifestyle is all about the beach. You are spoilt for choice ... an easy stroll to Clarkes beach and only a few minutes further to “The Pass” which is one of the most iconic surf points in Australia. If you feel like a bit of exercise, the walk to The Lighthouse on the boardwalk is a fave thing to do ... with a dip in the ocean at what is my favourite beach, Wategos.

When you can pull yourself away from relaxing on the front verandah or the beach, a short drive you will find so many places to visit. A trip to Brunswick Heads is always fun, with the boys & Ben jumping off the bridge. I love the town on Bangalow with some great cafes and one of my favourite brands Bisque Traders gorgeous store is there. A visit to the Farm never disappoints ... and the kids & adults love to watch the pigs rolling in the mud and cracking open the macadamia nuts.

Byron + Bask & Stow was the perfect match for us. Vinnie the amazing manager made our stay even more enjoyable with the service we received from the time we booked into the moment we left. Bask & Stow we will be back ... hopefully child-free & experience the Suites.
